Green Photography Contest

CONTEST ELIGIBILITY

Open to all University students.

SUBMISSION ENTRY

1. One person per entry
2. Only one photo is allowed for each entry

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
1. Photo must portray theme which is ''Driving the Future towards Greener Environment'' 
2. The photo must belong to you and be your creation. Posting someone else's work is not allowed.
3. Participator's photo used in this contest may have not been posted anywhere else. They must be   "Fresh" new pictures. Submitted photograph is an original work created solely by the entrant.
4. Altering or editing photo with Photoshop or any image editor will also disqualify your entries from competition.
5. Please be reminded, the photo must not include text, graphic designs, frames, watermarks, trademarks, or logos.
6. The committee reserves the right to refuse pictures that it considers offensive or inappropriate to the competition; for example pictures that are obscene, in poor taste or that incite political, racist or religious hatred.
7. Photograph does not infringe on the rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim or interest in the photograph.
8. Participant needs to fill up the registration form (provided in our official blog). 
9. Submissions must be in ONE file which consist of:

    a) Registration form (pdf format)
             b) Photograph (no longer than 1024 pixels on the longest side and saved as Jpegs (.jpg)        format  and not exceed 2MB per photo) .

10. You should rename your photograph. (exp: If your name is Jason,  then please name them jason.jpg (with no spaces, capital letters or unusual characters.

11. Do not send originals photo. We will not responsible for lost or damaged photo.

JUDGING AND NOTIFICATION

1. Photo will be judged according to the overall quality of the photograph, with special attention paid to composition, exposure, focus, color, impact and message, creativity, and technical expertise by a panel of photography expert. Failure to fulfill the theme's competition will also be disqualified.
2. The judges will select 10 images (the Finalist Images) as the shortlist 
3. Shortlisted photographers will be notified via email on 28th April 2012, one week after the submission dateline. Email delivery receipt will be deemed proof of notification and any time period will run from this date.  
4. Once you are announced as the finalist, you are compulsory to attend SSPEC 2012 on 18th May 2012 to present the ideas of your own views. 
5. Please demonstrate your photo that you have been submitted during the presentation day (soft copy, jpeg format). 
6. Ten minutes of time to explain about the photo and your ideas to the judges. 
7. The entry must not promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age.

WINNERS ANNOUNCEMENT AND PRIZES
The winners will be selected by the professional judges during the event day on 18th May 2012.

Winner :                              300 MYR + certificate
1st Runner up :                   200 MYR + certificate
2nd Runner up :                 100 MYR + certificate

The judges' decision is final and no discussion or correspondence can be entered into in respect of their decision.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE

Submission only valid until 29th April 2012
No responsibility is accepted for network connectivity, computer hardware or software failures of any kind which may restrict or delay the sending of your entry. 

USE AND OWNERSHIP OF IMAGES

All submitted photos will be the copyright of SPE-UTM Student Chapter and can be used, published or republished in whole or in part in any printed or electronic media, including recruitment and online publications .
